Susan Minnick, PsyD (she/her)
Hello! My name is Sue, and I’m a Licensed Clinical Psychologist.
I have been working in the field for almost 10 years and thoroughly appreciate the opportunity to work with others in need of support. I believe that psychotherapy can truly help make change and leave a lasting impact on one’s life. I believe that therapy is a partnership of working together to create goals and using evidence-based treatment to help one meet those goals. I specialize in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy which aims to address the connection between our thoughts, behaviors, and emotions and make active changes to help improve one’s life. I also have experience using Mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Motivational Interviewing and use differing techniques dependent on the specific aims of treatment. My overall goal when working with someone is to help them learn tools and strategies to think better, feel better, and eventually to be their own therapist.
I specialize in working with adolescents and adults and those experiencing anxiety, depression, anger, relationship issues, behavioral issues, academic stressors, occupational stressors, and life transitions. I also have extensive experience working with neurodiverse individuals, such as those with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, and Intellectual Disability. My experience also includes psychological assessment and teaching.
I strive to be collaborative and make the experience of therapy a positive, rewarding, challenging, and meaningful one. As a psychologist, I strive to be empathetic, open-minded, warm, accepting, and comforting but can probably also be described as funny and little nerdy! I truly love my job and feel fortunate to those who are willing to be open, put in the effort, and trust me to help them make change.
I received my Doctorate and Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from Widener University and my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from King’s College. I have had a variety of training experiences over the course of my education and career and have experience working with a wide variety of populations, backgrounds, and socioeconomic statuses.
When I’m not at work, I enjoy spending time with my 2 small children, husband, and dog. I’m a homebody and enjoy binge watching good TV and movies, cooking, and organizing everything! I also love being outdoors and enjoying the beauty of nature with long walks and fresh air.
